Education

Elim Lutheran Church provides people of all ages with an opportunity to gain a Christian education.

Sunday School classes begin on the first Sunday after Labor Day.  Confirmation begins later in September and Adult Education classes begin in October.  All education classes run through mid-May.

Sunday School:  Our Sunday School classes are designed to focus on the individual needs of the students.  Our volunteer teachers are supplied with excellent teaching materials and the class sizes provide a very comfortable teach to student ratio.

The Sunday School hour is split into two parts:  Chapel and Classroom.  Chapel consists of 15 minutes of singing, praying, and time to recongize birthdays and other special events.  The reminder of the hour is classroom time spent with their teacher and class.

Sunday School schedule:  Sundays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Confirmation:  Sixth through eighth grade students attend Confirmation classes, with the students being confirmed in October of their ninth grade year.  Classes are taught by Pastor Paula and the Youth Director.

Confirmation schedule:  Sundays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; Wednesdays, 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Adult Bible Study:  A weekly structured class complete with planned lessons and study guides. Anyone interested is welcome.

Adult Bible Study schedule:  Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.; Wednesdays, 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Youth Group:  Sudanese Lutheran Church has teamed up with Elim for youth group!  During the year, we have been convening from 6-8 pm on Wednesday nights.  Due to busy schedules, we will meet sporadically during the summer for special events:  dates TBA.  If you would like to be on the contact list or have event ideas, please email Jardy Wasmoen at jwasmoe1@cord.edu.  Also, we are planning a Lutheran Reformation of our own - a renewal of the youth room space!  Details to come.
